Union Ministers Hail Narendra Modi as India’s Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister
Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, S. Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest continuous-serving elected Prime Minister. Ministers highlighted key reforms, governance achievements, national development initiatives and leadership milestones from his 12-year tenure.
In a social media post, Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the past 12 years under Prime Minister Modi as a period marked by the restoration of India’s pride, a cultural renaissance, and the liberation of the nation from a colonial mindset. He stated that the period witnessed the construction of the new Parliament building, the implementation of three new criminal laws, and the introduction of the National Education Policy, which enabled medical and engineering education in native languages. He also noted that the vision of a self-reliant India had become a national resolve embraced by citizens across the country.
Mr. Shah further highlighted key developments during Prime Minister Modi’s tenure, including the strengthening of national borders, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Temple, efforts to eliminate Left-Wing Extremism, and decisive responses to terrorist incidents. According to the Home Minister, the period also helped foster national confidence, encouraging citizens to take pride in India’s heritage, culture, and capabilities.
He asserted that ensuring the safety of citizens while restoring their dignity and self-respect stands among Prime Minister Modi’s greatest achievements. Mr. Shah added that India today is confidently establishing its identity on global platforms and that the international community is witnessing the emergence of a capable, powerful, and transformed nation.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the historic milestone reflects the enduring trust and confidence that the people of India have placed in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, vision, and commitment to national development.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the past 12 years has driven transformative reforms that have reshaped India’s growth trajectory. He said that the benefits of major government initiatives have reached citizens at the grassroots level, empowering farmers, entrepreneurs, women, micro, small and medium enterprises, youth, and the middle class. Mr. Goyal added that as India continues to achieve milestones across multiple sectors, Prime Minister Modi’s vision, foresight, and stewardship remain central to the country’s progress.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the National Democratic Alliance government under Prime Minister Modi had delivered bold reforms and implemented several initiatives with unprecedented speed and scale. She emphasized that the Prime Minister provided decisive and strong leadership during a series of challenging periods faced by the nation.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described the journey of 4,399 days as a golden chapter in the building of an empowered, prosperous, developed, and self-reliant India. He stated that the current period represents an era in which development and cultural heritage advance together.
Several other senior ministers also extended their congratulations to the Prime Minister. These included Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav, Power Minister Manohar Lal, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
